- 月牙泉
- 古称沙井，俗名药泉。
在甘肃敦煌旦城南7公里鸣沙山北麓。
泉呈月牙形，涟漪萦回，水草丛生，清澈见底。
产铁背鱼、七星草，但不常见。
清道光《敦煌县志》载：”泉甘美，深不可测”，“四面沙龙，一泉澄澈，为飞沙所不到”。
又谓泉虽在流沙山群中，风起沙飞，均绕泉而过，从不落入泉内。
五月端阳，登沙山，观泉景，已成当地民间习俗，相沿至今。
